Identity negotiation of Chinese international students in Canada: A study on cosmopolitan post-graduation settlement

چکیده

This study focuses on analyzing the acculturation of Chinese international students in Canada, emphasizing students' post-graduation settlement China, or other countries. commonly experience a multilayered acculturative adjustment when they are challenged by new culture. In this process, develop an identity negotiation that impacts their into country. mobilizes four notions (e.g., assimilation, integration, marginalization, and separation), to evaluate students’ after university. research uses 17 semi-structured interviews understand how participants' identities were negotiated through adjustment. First, findings highlight importance career factors family values decisions. Second, balance between Canadian has some impact student’s migration plans.
